meghan M. lynch
I started my career as a teacher in the Bronx. When I was in school for my masters, I was a Child Protective Specialist in the South Bronx. I graduated and became a school counselor. At around that time, my mother became ill with cancer for the second time and passed away.
I lost myself. Grief can break you.
I then became a High School Guidance Counselor in a private school and loved it. I did a lot of teen groups and family therapy at this school. As I worked there, I got my license as a Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC) and began to work as a family therapist after school hours.
During this time, I worked with so many families and learned so much and was trained in IFS.
I continued to work as a family therapist part time and continued as a school counselor.
Working in the school system, taught me so much about communication, leadership, intergrity and values and helped me not only understand children and how they learn, but taught me so much about myself and my own ADHD and anxiety.
When COVID hit, during that time, my father, one of my best friends and my partner all passed away. This was a really hard time in my life. However, this is also when I circled back to my faith.
How we react to adversity, shows us who we are.
Grief broke me, but I built myself back up and feel I have lived many lives. I LOVE being a therapist and truly love seeing people evolve into who they are meant to be and loving themselves. Life can kick us, but it's learning to shake the dust off and get back up.
Like Winston Churchill once said,
" when you're going through hell... keep going"
(... therapy helps.)

My goal
We all need help. It's admitting that, that's the hardest part. I am here to support you to help you see clearly and to be honest with yourself. My goal is to push you to become a better version of yourself. I also help heal relationship issues and school issues and career and college planning. I have helped many parents with academic issues and getting their children the help and support they need in the school system.
My values
In my life, I was raised Catholic. However, I am someone who learns by experience. I dabbled into every belief there is until I came to my own. My life has brought me back to God and my faith- which is bible based and will share to those who are open to it. I value honesty and truth more than anything

spiritual fruit encompases my faith which I believe we are meant to thrive in the fruits of the spirit which are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control ( Galatians 5:22)
Making Sense- is my group therapy page- I LOVE doing group therapy but am also ADHD so love incorporating sensory stuff into therapy. I love to find new and creative ways to incorporate into healing and group therapy. Currently doing groups online- but if and when enough interest really hope to have groups again in person. I have ran groups my whole career from ages 5- 50 years old.
I am quirky, passionate, loving, insightful and real. Who I am as a therapist, is who I am as a person. I have had a lot of life experiences and have done a lot of therapy myself to deal with them and am not too proud to admit it. I have worked through my insecurities and am able to see others very clearly, which is why I think I am good at pushing people to become their best selves. I am a huge animal lover. I have 2 dogs and 2 kittens. I love nature and hiking. I love God. That's me.
Lastly- therapy with me- to summarize it- I am unique. I am one of a kind and not like any other therapist and have been told that over and over. I think when people love what they do, they thrive at it. I love what I do- I will let you be the judge of whether you think I thrive at it or not...

bubba is a certified therapy dog
- Inititally, I got Bubba for my own emotional support after my father passed. However, Bubba was quickly certified and has gone on many visits to people and children and therapy groups and brings so much joy to others! If interested in a visit, let me know.
- His sister Josie, is in training. She is a lab mix and a bit more hyper. We are working on her not jumping when she gets excited....so hopefully soon she will be certified too.
cbt/dbt for anxiety and ADHD
- I love the brain and love learning. I love to use what is scientifcally proven to work and teach others how to put the work in action. Change what you think- change how you feel!
- Mindfulness and guided meditations change your brain chemistry. Yes, literally change your brain chemistry- chat GPT it:)
- Radical Acceptance is a topic I preach and teach that changes your life
self awareness is key
- You have to know how you work to know what's going to work for you- therapy won't change anything unless you buy in- however, I am a big advocate for journaling and it is proven to help process repressed emotions and also with self awareness. The first step to any change is being aware. I do lots of writing prompts with clients.
